20 Jahre Schlossfest – Once a year there is a Renaissance festival  in the castle of Ambras . The 20th will be next week , on the 15th august 2014. We’ve already been to two and we’re not going to miss this one either . Free entrance for everyone, but please don’t come with your car. There is a shuttle service from the parking of DEZ or the Tivoli stadium (Landessportcenter bus station) to the castle.
There are various performances all around the castle and the gardens: Festival procession, flag throwers, renaissance music and dances, costumes parade, knights fights, puppet theater. The galleries of the castle are also open for the visitors free of charge. The festival is especially interesting for the kids. They can try different crafts or games from the middle ages. And of course there is a market and food.
