I bought yesturday a little compact photo printer Canon Selphy CP800 . And it’s a wonderful gadjet. It’s funny the way it prints – first the yellow color, than returns the photo , adds the red, picure start taking shape , than comes the blue color and at the end the black. Absolutely fascinating. I’ve printed a sample photo to compare with another one from a laboratory and I can tell there is almost no difference. Great quality for such a small thing. But hey , I swear on Canon.

Welcome into my blog. I hope you’ll like it here . Who am I and why photography? I am a personal photographer for my family and especially for my two daughters as my man doesn’t like the camera. I fact he dislikes it so much that I learned not to tell him when I shoot. The kids, they are better. Sometimes they even ask me to take a picture of them. Especially the older one, “so she can remember”. And that’s exactly why I use cameras. To keep a record of beautiful moments. My favourite type of photography is lifestyle photography. Real moments, real people, real emotions, real environment and natural light – captured in a photo. This is my strength. This is where I get a kick. I believe in backlight sun, natural light and the unexpected. I believe in “get it right in the camera”, magic and my MKII. Studio? Not for me. Too staged. Too controlled. Too artificial. Too superficial. My studio is nature, outdoors, indoors .Where real emotions happen. It’s a beautiful world we live in! My editing / retouching – minimal. I’d remove a pickle or under eye circles, but won’t make you look like you’re not yourself. I won’t remove your wrinkles or make your skin look perfect. Because this is not who you are. I don’t believe in spending hours in Photoshop, fixing things in pictures. I don’t have time for that. I find tripods quite annoying and avoid shooting with them. I wish I had a reflector and a couple of more lenses. Location? 3km above Innsbruck , in the magical land of Tyrol, Austria. Canon or Nikon ? Canon . I always had Canon s. Cameras : Canon 5DMkII , 50mm lens and a 75-300mm zoom. I started with a Canon 1000D and switched to the MKII about two years ago as I needed more ISO sensibility than the 1000D could offer as I often shoot without flash in rather dark conditions and fast moving subjects. Beacuse even at ISO 6400 , the MKII photos still rock!
